Couch to 5k ?
Running is one of the easiest sports for anyone to get started; afterall, all you need is a place to run, time to run, a basic level of fitness and some good shoes! No gym membership is required, you can do it by yourself, you can run around your neighborhood, in a park, or even up and down stairs, parking decks or about anywhere you can find an open space. What are your goals? Do you just want to live longer, lose weight, run a race, keep up with your children, or maybe you think you are ready for a race or two? Every champion runner had to run his or her first race!
Why hire a running coach?
If you play tennis have you ever taken lessons? What about hiring a golf teacher? How about a personal trainer or a yoga instructor, a swim coach when you were a child perhaps or even as an adult? Why did you hire these coaches? Perhaps it is because you wanted to have a mentor and a huge knowledge base that a coach can provide; someone to teach you correct form and techniques, proper warm and cool downs, strengthening and stretching or even give you tips to get over sticking points or even better, make you better than the next guy!
