The What, How and Why of my coaching style:
​ Keep it realistic. Keep it simple. I DON'T promise miracles  but I DO promise to work towards your best you.
  • ​What I do: I coach runners. I teach you to own yourself, push yourself, push against the clock, push to get to that next level, organize and make your workouts have purpose.  Yep, there are lots of running coaches you can choose from, I get that. Read a little more to help you decide if you are the right fit for me. I am not an elite runner, never was, but I know running. 30+ years of running experience and a lifelong, serious student of the sport. 
  • How I coach: So coaches differ in so many ways. How do you choose?. I hate to tell you,there isn't a "magic" formula to running faster. It doesn't happen overnight, but every individual does have a capacity that can be reached if it is targeted correctly.  One thing we do know, is all runners take TIME to develop! The  secret  sauce so to speak is finding what works for YOU. This is my goal, this is my style.  Your plan is not cookie cooker. I want results and I will give you the tools if you are willing to put in the work, you are willing to be flexible and willing to listen and give me intelligent, objective feedback as well. It takes time to know an athlete and what works, but I promise that we will work together to look at where you are and where you want to be and put the tools in place to move towards your goals. 
  • Why choose me? You have so many choices. Like I said, I am not an elite runner but my 30+ years of  running experience, my  knowledge of science on all aspects of running, my availability, my desire to help you be a better runner is what you will get. It is my job as your coach to teach you to "win." Whatever goal you have in mind, that is what we will focus on together. I will ask you and help you expose your weaknesses. If you don't make progress it is my fault! I want to help you learn to compete better. Any coach can take a "fast, talented" athlete and take the credit for that. That is not my style. I want help you find what it takes to make "you" your best runner. Some things may work, some won't but that is what we will explore together. ​I am a veterinarian by day and a runner and coach secondly. I don't use coaching to get rich or even make a living. It is a passion instead. Coaching runners is never work to me!    
  • Virtual and in person coaching. I will be with you every mile with constant feedback to ensure you are on track. I will be your sounding board, your voice of reasoning, your pull on the reins to keep you from injury the best we can. 
  • Beginners to advanced runners.
  • Unique, individualized, science based, periodized training plans. Training isn't just about writing a plan and executing the plan; its about being flexible and dynamic - making it work for you! Every runner is different, and writing a plan and expecting that to work just won't make the cut. 
  • Race incorporated training
